This paper aims at interpreting the three filicide stories in Ovid's Metamorphoses in the light of defamiliarization and data analysis. Through data analysis of the transformations, this paper shows the times, types, subjects, objects and connotation of transformations in different stories, revealing the realistic meaning of these stories. It also reflects on the relationship between husband and wife, father and son, and mother and son.
