High efficiency light emitting diode with 2-D surface grating photonic crystal

1. Introduction We demonstrate the 2-D surface grating PC LED exhibiting 3.4-fold enhancement in total efficiency. We think that this figure is attractive because of its very simple process and the applicability to arbitrary semiconductors.
