Lighting device for an aircraft, with a combination of a planar backlight and a reflection of incident light on a side facing the viewer side to achieve a specific depth effect, which appears to the viewer of the lighting body in a larger optical depth than it actually is. This is particularly important in aircraft where on the one hand there is a limited space and on the other the weight aspect plays a big role, which inevitably accompanies actually large bodies.
