Floating zone crystal growth and magnetic properties of M-type Co-substituted strontium hexaferrites
2019
Abstract Crystals of M-type Co-substituted strontium hexaferrites have been grown for the first time by floating zone melting technique. Homogeneous crystals are obtained from the charge with composition SrCo x Mg 0.125x Fe 12-1.125x O 19 (x=0.1, 0.2 and 0.3). The increase of cobalt content above 0.3 (x>0.3) results in changing of hexaferrite-like structures from M- to W-type and formation of additional phases. Temperature and field dependences of magnetization were studied for the grown crystals which revealed a significant magnetic anisotropy and strong dependence of magnetic properties on temperature and composition.
