The dog clutch

2005
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an engagement part to balance on strength without causing increase in weight corresponding to change in applied torque in accordance with change in power transmitting direction in a dog clutch which is respectively provided with the engagement part including first engagement surface which engages to opposed surfaces of a drive side rotator and a non-drive side rotator in the event of drive force of a drive member being generated and second engagement surface which engages in case of the drive member being subjected to the drive force from the non-drive member. SOLUTION: The dog clutch is configured so that extension line to inward side of the first engagement surface 47a passes through position offset from rotating axis and simultaneously enables extension line to inward side of a second engagement surface 47b to pass through the rotating axis and thereby, a first engagement part 47 is formed in substantially trapezoidal shape which makes the width along circumferential direction of radially outward side greater than the width along circumferential direction of radially inward side on projection drawing to plane surface orthogonal to the rotating axes of the drive side rotator 32 and the non-drive side rotator.
