Increasing RESs Share Using Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning - Stochastic Approach

2019
In this paper, the Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning problem is solved considering a stochastic approach. The problem is applied on a fictive power system that is similar to a real system where renewable energy sources (RESs) - wind power plants - are considered for possible integration. The optimal solution of the problem determines the number and location of the new transmission lines that are possible to be built. In addition, the capacity and location of the new wind generating units (WPP) are determined. The mathematical model is a mixed-integer linear programming problem (MILP) in which losses are neglected.
