Thermostat location for a naturally ventilated swine barn

A preferred location for thermostats in an automatically controlled naturally ventilated barn was determined based on the ability to establish comfort zones for the animals and to minimize the effect of wind direction and exterior temperature. Thermostats located at 0.9 m above the floor, 3.0 m from the outside walls, at midlength of the barn provided adequate environmental control under all conditions studied.
