AAV virions with reduced immunoreactivity and uses thereof

Use of a capsid protein of adeno-associated virus (AAV) recombinant within a recombinant AAV virion, to decrease the immunoreactivity of the virions compared with corresponding virions wild type, wherein said capsid protein mutated AAV comprises one amino acid substitution that occurs in a position corresponding to the position in the capsid of AAV-2 VPA selected from the group consisting of amino acid 132, amino acid 365 and amino acid 571.
