Transition probabilities for 3p→3s and 3d→3p lines of NaII

Abstract Relative transition probabilities for 38 lines arising from the 2p 5 3p and 2p 5 3d configurations of NaII have been determined from measurements of emission-line intensities in an optically thin laser produced plasma. Transition probabilities were placed on an absolute scale by using line-strength sum rules. Our experimental results for transition probabilities and lifetimes have been compared with experimental and theoretical data given by other authors and with our present calculations.
