Do the Conventional Fixed-Bed Reactors Possess any Potential for the Process Intensification?

2012
If a multiphase catalytic process in a fixed-bed reactor was regarded as a competition between catalyst developers and chemical engineers, nearly always the prize should be awarded to the catalyst developers. Catalysts created by chemists, as a rule, can demonstrate a great ability to do their “chemical” work, if only the process arrangements do not pose impervious limitations toward the desired catalyst performance.
