155.52 Mb/s optical transceiver modules for ONU/OLT on ATM-PON systems

1997
A photodiode (PD) tail current compensation circuit was realized for the first time drastically reduced power penalty of the tail current for a burst mode receiver. Using this method, we developed high performance optical transceiver modules. This paper describes 155.52 Mb/s optical transceiver modules for optical network units (ONU) and optical line terminal (OLT) on single fiber WDM asynchronous transfer mode passive optical network (ATM-PON) systems, that operate on a +3.3 V single supply. Experimental results with the OLT optical transceiver module indicate a good loud/soft ratio was achieved.
