Dynamical calculation of the A$sub 1$

A relativistic three-body theory previously used to generate the $omega$ has been applied to the 1$sup +$ state of three pions. An A$sub 1$ resonance pole is produced with M/subA/$sub 1$=1160 MeV, GAMMA/2=90 MeV, but there is no associated phase variation of the amplitude. (AIP)
