The diagnostic value of atrial natriuretic polypeptide levels in patients with acute dyspnea

2009
Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of atrial natriuretic polypeptide(ANP)levels in patients with acute dyspnea.Method:110 patients with acute dyspnea were admitted in our study. The plasma level of ANP was measured and analyzed.Result:The plasma level of ANP in patients with heart failure was significant higher than that in patients without heart failure(P0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of plasma ANP measurement with a cut-off value of 0.29 ng/ml in patients with heart failure in differential diagnosis for acute dyspnea were 95.00% and 88.64%.The positive predictive value and the negative predictive value were 86.36% and 95.12% respectively. Conclusion:The plasma level of ANP has great clinical significance in differential diagnosis for patients with acute dyspnea.
