Role of the multifunctional transcription factor TFII-I in DNA damage repair.
2021
Abstract The multifunctional transcription factor TFII-I, encoded by the GTF2I gene, is implicated in various biological pathways, and associated with multiple human disorders. Evidence is also mounting to suggest that TFII-I is involved in DNA damage repair pathways. Here I bring together these recent observations and suggest a connection between transcriptional and DNA repair functions of TFII-I.
