Rapid photolysis of cholesterol.

1975
: Studies of cholesterol photolysis demonstrated that over 50% of this sterol was converted to more polar photoproducts after 10 minutes exposure to broad spectrum radiation from a mercury arc lamp. Light of 254 and 265 nm wavelengths was most effective in alteration of the sterol. The major polar photoproducts formed were tentatively identified.
