Kontrola sustava opskrbe plinovitim gorivom na brodu s 5G70ME-C GI motorima

2021
On ships for the transport of liquefied gas, about 0.15% of cargo evaporates daily, which causes an increase in pressure in cargo tanks. Since these tanks are very limited by the maximum working pressure, it is necessary to get rid of the evaporated gas. On a ship whose gas supply system is described in the paper, two two-stroke gas burning 5G70ME-C GI engines manufactured by MAN B&W whose gas pressure must be raised to 300 bar are used. The first part of the paper describes the control of gas supply to the gas valve trains for the main engines. This includes gas pressure and temperature control and safety functions in cases where the high-pressure compressor HiCom and the high-pressure pump HiVar are used. The second part of the paper describes the control of gas supply from the gas valve trains to the main engines. Before switching the main engines to gas mode, a form of selfdiagnostics of said part of the gas system is required which is achieved by carrying out certain test phases which are explained in this part of the paper.
