Muslim tradition has a long history of Ḥawāshī or Taʻlīqāt (Marginal Notes) writing. Different scholars have been developing important works of Ḥawāshī in different periods. This article introduces the tradition of Ḥawāshī in Muslim intellectual history, particularly in Indo-Pak subcontinent. Focusing the relevant works of two scholars, Abū al-Ḥasan al-Sindī and ʻAbd al-Ḥakīm Siālkotī, it explores the role of the said scholars in the referred field. Giving the detailed list of the works of the mentioned scholars, this paper examines the value and worth of their Taʻlīqāt works.
