Apparatus for volumetric three-dimensional image in autostereoscopic representation reproduction by pulsed plasma generation in a natural atmosphere by means of a single focused laser beam

1998
The invention relates to a device for the volumetric reproduction of a three-dimensional object, in autostereoscopic representation, by pulsed plasma generation in a natural atmosphere, using a single focused laser beam. To this end, in a display device for representing a three-dimensional image, comprising a light emitter and a directing means, successive, selected volume elements of a non-linear medium are made to luminesce by the application of light; the light emitter emits an expanded light bundle; the directing means selectively focuses the light bundle in the corresponding selected volume element; and the intensity of the light emitter is such that the medium is made to luminesce only at the level of the light bundle focus.
