Intercultural ability, the fifth skill, is of a crucial importance in the foreign language learning process. Paying attention to the cultural similarities and differences among the source and the target language communities causes the language learners to be more familiar with the foreign culture from one hand and provides a basis for transforming language knowledge and better learning in the process of foreign language learning from the other hand. The importance of fifth skill in the intercultural education caused devoting a section to familiarity with the target language cultural and social characteristics during a language curriculum or developing textbooks in addition to the four classic skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Internet and its capabilities provided a suitable ground for creating and deepening of intercultural skill in the process of language education. The present study tries to represent a broader view related to culture and society in language education and analyze the different angles of it on its classic and digital basis.
