Water and Electrolyte Disturbances

Disturbances in plasma sodium (Na) and potassium (K) concentrations are frequent complications of disease states that afflict the pediatric population. This chapter will first categorize and describe Na disorders and then conditions that affect the extracellular concentration of K (1–9).
