System and method for the manufacture of rod-shaped smoking articles with filters

The invention relates to a system and a method for the manufacture of rod-shaped smoking articles with filters. The system is provided with a distributing unit, a cigarette making unit and a filter forming unit. The distributing unit and the cigarette making unit are used for selectively activating one rail and activating other rails and are arranged for operation of a single rail, thereby forming cigarette strips in one rail and manufacturing the cigarette rods which are wrapped. A filter wrapping material input device of the filter forming unit and a filter wrapping material gluing device are arranged for processing a filter wrapping material with a larger length relative to activation of all rails and multi-rail operation in single-rail operation. The filter wrapping device is arranged for configuring the filter wrapping material with adhesive on at least section of at least wrapped cigarette rod and fiter rod in a configuration structure which is composed of at least one wrapped cigarette rod and filter rod in a manner of exceeding one whole cycle. The distributing unit, the cigarette making unit and the filter forming unit are arranged for operating in a processing speed which is set for multi-rail operation in single-rail operation.
