Julius Dam - Hilton Pipeline; Pump Control and Supervisory System

1976
Fred Haigh Pump Station is located approximately 6 kilometres up stream of the Julius Dam wall. This pump station transfers water with the aid of booster pump stations, from Lake Julius to the existing Lake Moondarra and then onto the Terminal Reservoir in Mount Isa from where the water is distributed to the Isa Mine tanks and the city council tanks. The paper deals with the various aspects of automatic control for pump starting and stopping, electrical protection, remote control system and supervisory systems associated with the operation of Stage I of the Julius Dam - Lake Moondarra - Mount Isa Terminal Reservoir water supply system.
