Wetting agent composition for mercerization

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition for cellulosic fiber materials, having excellent wetting power and low foaming properties by making the composition include a carbohydrate-based compounds and a specific phosphoric ester. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a compound of formula I (R1 is hydroxyl or SO3 M; R2 is a 4-18C alkyl; (m) is 2-6; (n) is 0 or 1; and M is hydrogen or an alkali metal ion) (an alkylglycoside or an alkylcarboxamidoglycoside) and (B) a phosphoric ester of formula II (R3 ) is a 1-10C alkoxy or the like; and R4 is O-M, a 1-10C alkoxy or the like).
