The road is a piece of urban structure connecting the urban area that not only has important role in social, economic, cultural and encourage the area development, but it is the public space that should be able to provide integration as a liaison structure to the activities contained in the urban areas. The road space of Mataram Drainage at the Kaliurang-Affandi road cutoff is a piece of structure that not only plays an important role connecting the Mataram Drainage area consists of residential functions, universities and commercial, but also play an important role for the urban areas. The development process in it encourage an increase in the space filler and the region liaison pattern, but in the process must sacrificing the water control room by closed it to obtain a wider roads dimension, the space filler that has behavior makes the road as private space has impact to the weakening role of road as the connector, on the other side of the road occurred accumulation of activities that affect the occurrence of crossing occupancy travel to college and travel to the region. Thus it is necessary for research on review of the user behavior relationship with physical setting to get the road cutoff that has good quality as the micro-space and the necessary of the liaison structure of mezzo and macro space, and the results of the present research can be used to formulate the road space direction of Mataram Drainage at the Kaliurang-Affandi road cutoff This research uses rationalistic method whereby the initial stages of research is to explore some understanding of specific theories relating to the road as a liaison structure. After that, from review on searching the theory, it will be synchronized in the region of Mataram Drainage namely the road space of Mataram Drainage at the Kaliurang-Affandi road cutoff The results found that the private activity arises because the weakening role of the road as a liaison due to parking activities that decrease the travel space. The parking activities weakened role of the road as liaison space that impact on the road user behavior. The results are expected can be used as consideration to arrange the direction of road spatial structuring of Mataram Drainage at the Kaliurang-Affandi road cutoff as the regions and urban structure
