Unequal opportunity : learning to read in the U.S.A.

This text argues that although the USA was founded on a principle of equal access to educational and economic opportunity, those who have always been found at the bottom of the educational ladder are black and Latin Americans. It uses case studies to explore the reasons why this happens.
