The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of cooperative learning on academic achievement towards Science and Technology course. The sample of this study consisted of 131 fourth grade students in two primary schools in the center district, in Aydon. Four classes were assigned as research groups. One of the experimental groups and one of the control groups were instructed by researcher and the others were instructed by their own teachers. The data was collected by achievement test. The experiment groups learned science using the cooperative learning method and the control groups took the activities that take part in the primary school's science and technology curriculum. Data collection tool was administered to the groups as a pre- test, post-test and retention test. The results showed that cooperative learning has a positive effect on achievement about science and technology course.
