MOOCs Applied Pedagogy for Outcome Based Education-Application Based Teaching-Learning

Applied Pedagogy for the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) will definitely result in Outcome Based Education (OBE) which is the demand of 21st century education system and it is already adapted by many countries even India has also adapted but not 100%. To create a balance between theoretical knowledge and application of theory / practical skills it is important to focus on application based education i.e. on Applied Pedagogy. The proposed Applied Pedagogy is based on three cardinal principles 1. Understanding concept. 2. Implementing concept/relate with real world scenario. 3. Practicing the concept. The Applied Pedagogy is following UIP (Understanding Implementing Practicing) approach which will be very effective in solving issues of our current pedagogy. There are many issues with our current pedagogy but we will focus on following four major issues :- 1. Race of Grades 2. No creative/innovative thinking 3. One way conversation 4. Lack of self education. The mentioned four issues will be overcome by UIP approach, 1. Race of Grade:- It will be Race of Understanding for Implementing the concept 2. No Creative/Innovative Thinking:- By Implementing & Practicing concept, Creative/Innovative Thinking will be developed 3. One Way Conversation:- Implementation & Practicing of Concept will be more like discussing new ideas for implementing the same concept 4. Lack of Self Study: - Self Understanding for Implementation of concept and then Self Practicing.
