The invention provides a method and a device for switching carriers. The method comprises the steps of starting a main carrier and a standby carrier, wherein the frequency spectrums of the main carrier and the standby carrier are both white frequency spectrums; indicating UE (User Equipment) which is accessed to the main carrier to be switched from the main carrier to the standby carrier when broadcasting interference on the main carrier is detected. According to the method and the device, provided by the invention, by simultaneously starting the main carrier and the standby carrier, the UE which is accessed to the main carrier can be indicated to be switched from the main carrier to the standby carrier when the broadcasting interference on the main carrier is detected, the situation that the main carrier is successfully switched to an interference-free carrier when being subjected to the broadcasting interference is ensured, and the business continuity is ensured.
