Longitudinal stability of a sliding spindle as core with step change of the rigidity, loaded with compressing axial effort is considered. The way of an estimation of its longitudinal stability is offered, allowing to consider non-uniform making designs separately and to define total size of the maximum loading for a design as a whole. The satisfactory coordination with results of the previous researchers is spent.
