Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is histologically characterised as low-, intermediate-, and high-grade [1]. Low-grade tumours rarely transform into high-grade tumours (dedifferentiation) [2, 3] and the latter very rarely produce granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) [4, 5].
