CO/sub 2/ can be produced from flue gas
1982
This paper describes the monoethanolamine (MEA) process in which carbon dioxide is produced from coal-fired boiler flue gas. Diagrams are presented for the amine and ethanolamine processes for the treatment of sour gas. Specifications are presented for a natural gas treating plant. The conclusion is that the most serious problem encountered during startup and operation of the MEA plant was the atmospheric plume generated from the absorber exhaust.
