Strategic Enhancement of Operating Efficiency and Reliability of Process Steam Boilers System in Industry

2021
This paper describes the economy of process steam boilers system with its strategic improvement, evaluating efficiency (including losses, formulating maintenance), studying feasibility, ensuring energy conservation/higher reliability and productivity based on “Optimization Study of Operating Thermal Efficiency of Steam Boilers” in Haryana. The ways are identified for the elimination of needless time, materials, energy, money and resources wastage with focus on efficiency and reliability. The practical concept at the intersection of business and engineering is the job of an industrial engineer. The operation analysis of these boilers showed regular deviations due to multiple reasons. The efficiency represents the cost-effective maintenance, coupled with devices calibration, tracking and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) capabilities—all targeting/ensuring reliability, safety and energy performance. The result oriented actions made served as a starting point from where the plants would have started moving toward improved efficiency and reliability of boilers systems. Long-term energy efficiency and reliability require close attention to a range of factors. Inadequate maintenance is a major cause of wastage and deteriorating reliability at plant. In order to analyze, highlight the size of deviations, improvement and adopting up-gradations to documenting in report and to this paper compilation is done. The objective of this project findings-based research work was to analyze for boilers system efficiency and reliability improvement and enhance the systems performance for timely development for better planning/maintenance result and plant-specific productivity enhancement. It provides a real-time solution without which it cannot be fully accomplished by existing poorly performing utilities/facilities at site and units not maintaining its level best and processes managing upgraded systems.
