Influence of Fractal Strip Elements Sierpinski Carpet on the Frequency Spectrum of a PBG Fractal Double-Gap Resonator

2020
This article presents the simulation results of a double-gap photonic band gap resonator with striped fractal elements. In this resonator, a modified fractal “Sierpinski gasket” of three iterations was applied. Fractal elements “Sierpinski gasket” were made on a suspended dielectric substrate. The frequency spectrum of the resonator was investigated in the range from 10 to 40 GHz. The calculation of the main electrodynamic parameters of the resonator - resonant frequency, characteristic impedance, unloaded Qo factor - was made. The investigated resonator can find application in devices of the klystron type, which operate as amplifiers, generators, and frequency multipliers.
