[In the following exchange, Trent is examined by William L. Taylor, lead attorney for the Caldwell/NAACP plaintiffs, and by Judge Gunn about aspects of the St. Louis desegregation plan. Taylor began by asking Trent to comment on information contained within a court-ordered report prepared and submitted to the court by a task force headed by William H. Danforth, former chancellor of the University of Missouri, and sponsored by the local St. Louis-area civic group, Civic Progress.
