Expression and significance of cathepsin-D and MMP-9 in non-small cell lung carcinonma( NSCLC)

2010
Objective To detect the expressions of cathepsin D( Cath-D) and MMP-9,and investigate their significance on development and metastasis in non-small cell lung carcinonma( NSCLC) . Methods The study included 96 cases of NSCLC as experimental group and 60 cases of normal lung tissues as control group. We detected the expressions of Cath-D and MMP-9 in different clinical and pathological characters by using IHC. Results The positive rate of Cath-D and MMP-9 were higher in the experimental group than in control group. Comparisons of the control group, the positive rate of Cath-D and MMP-9 were correlated with pleural invasion and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The high-expressions of Cath-D and MMP-9 may promote the occurrence and development in NSCLC. The joint detection of Cath-D and MMP-9 should be helpful to predict the prognosis in NSCLC.
