A Conceptual Framework for Development of a Workload Assessment Methodology

1982
Abstract : Based on a review of the current literature, a conceptual framework which incorporates major elements related to operator workload has been developed. The framework treats workload as a multidimensional construct with important physiological, subjective, and behavioral components. An important implication of the framework is that, at present, a comprehensive workload assessment methodology should include a number of measures, including subjective, physiological, and performance-based metrics.
