New data on otavite

1971
Small imperfect crystals of this rare mineral, trigonal cadmium carbonate, were found in carbonate cement of cupriferous terrigenic sandstones and grayellites, in association with calcite, cerussite, and malachite. It was identified optically, roentgenometrically, chemically, and by differential ignition. Its properties were investigated and determined alongside those of natural and synthetic carbonates of calcium and cadmium.-- V.P. Sokoloff
