Treatment of Murine Secondary Cysts of Echinococcus granulosus with Tibetan Drugs

Objective To study the effect of Tibetan drugs,the copper,on the levels of cytokines in mice with experimental secondary cysts of Echinococcus granulosus.Methods After ninety days of treatment,blood samples were taken from eyeball after the mice were dissected,and the serum levels of IL-2,IL-6,IL-10 and IgE were measured.Results The results showed that a significant differences of the serum levels of IL-2,IL-6 and IgE between treated and control groups(P0.05),but not that of IL-10(P0.05).Conclusion IL-2,IL-6,IL-10 and IgE can de used as indicators of the treatment of secondary cycsts of Echinococcus granulosus.
