Input Shape Influence over Interconnect Performances

The analysis of finite RC transmission lines with step input is often discussed in the literature, but the analysis input excitation waveforms is not. The object of the paper is to compare real (output of the buffer) and linearized (from a generator) input signal to characterize delay and shape degradation due to submicronic interconnection. Expressing the input signal in the frequency domain by using a Fast Fourier Transform gives a good understanding of the discrepancy between simulation and experimental approaches.
