Clinker-like remains of molten lava occur in many areas of volcanic origin, and this scoria has been used as an aggregate. But is it useful, when finely-ground, as a pozzolanic ingredient for concrete? The question was examined at the Technion—Israel Institute of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, where Dr. Soroka is an Associate Professor.
