Méningite à Streptococcus salivarius après saccoradiculographie

Summary The authors report one case of nosocomial meningitis due to Streptococcus salivarius following myelography. A 28 years' old man with an unremarkable medical past revealed 20 hours after spinal puncture with injection severe headache, fever, vomiting. His neck was rigid and Kernig's and Brudzinski's signs were positive. Obtundation was noted. A new spinal puncture was performed. Culture of cerebrospinal fluid was positive with S. salivarius . Treatment with cefotaxime (2 g qid) during 14 days improved the patient's condition clinically rapidly. The resolution of meningitis was complete.
