Method and device for the in situ corrosion protection of welded joints of metal pipes.

1999
Method for the anticorrosive protection in situ of welding joints and / or areas coated damaged metal tube (T) coated, comprising the following steps: a) preparing a cover tape such as a sheathing (17 ) of a thermoplastic material, the sheathing (17) being configured to cover (T1-T2) of the tube (T) to be coated in a single coating layer; b) pre-wrapping said sheathing (17) similar to a tape on a press roll (16) having the same diameter or larger than the diameter of the tube (T) to be coated diameter, and said sheathing (17) is applied as coating on said pressing roll (16) in a single wrap layer; c) rotating said pressing roll (16) carrying said sheathing (17) around the part (T1T2) of the tube (T) to be coated, in order to move the sheathing (17) from the pressing roll (16) and applying as coating the sheath material (17) on the (T1-T2) of the tube (T) aa coated as single wrap layer; d) simultaneously with said rotation step, pressing said press roller (16) against the pipe (T) thus exerting a certain pressure on the sheathing towards the part below (T1T2) of the tube (T) coated, thereby obtaining a homogeneous and strong adherence of the sheathing (17) with respect to (T1-T2) of the tube (T) to be coated without air bubbles entrapped between the sheathing (17) and tube (T).
