Effective Measures for Improving the Qualified Rate of HFW Pipe

2014
In order to improve the qualified rate of HFW pipe and reduce the material waste caused by the down time, it utilized the existing configuration of the production line to conduct supplementary heating on the weld which was not passed by the normal heat treatment process. The performance of weld after supplementary heating was studied and analyzed by the tensile test, Charpy impact test, flattening test, UT inspection and metallographic examination, the results indicated that after supplementary heating, the tensile strength, low temperature impact toughness, UT inspection performance and microstructure of the weld all meet the requirements of GB/T 9711-2011 PSL2 and technical specification for orders, it showed that this supplementary heating way can improve the comprehensive performance of HFW pipe weld.
