Low Complexity Delay-Aware Energy Efficient Power Allocation in Multicarrier Wireless Networks
2015
In this paper, we present a delay-aware energy efficient power allocation in green orthogonal frequency division multiplexing networks. Our proposed scheme aims at maximizing the effective energy efficiency, defined as the effective capacity per unit of total power consumption, subject to given delay-QoS and maximum power constraints. We analytically obtain the uniquely global optimal power using nested convex optimization and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Our analysis shows that the proposed PSO algorithm has lower complexity than other analytical approaches. Moreover, our simulation results show that there exists a trade-off between effective energy efficiency and delay. When the delay is more stringent, the effective energy efficiency decreases.
