Pendidikan warisan di muzium: Kajian berkaitan penggunaan laras bahasanya (The language of heritage education in Malaysian museums)

Kajian ini adalah mengenai pendidikan warisan di muzium dan penggunaan laras bahasanya dalam program-program pendidikan warisan yang dirancang khusus ke pada masyarakat yang terdiri dari pelbagai peringkat umur dan kategori. Program pendidikan berlangsung melalui dua bentuk iaitu secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Secara langsung adalah melalui program pendidikan yang dirancang dan disusun khas untuk kategori pengunjung dan melalui pameran tetap, khas dan sementara adalah secara tidak langsung. Data diambil dari kajian perpustakaan, pemerhatian turut serta dan pemerhatian secara langsung serta temubual bebas. Kajian mendapati penggunaan laras bahasa haruslah berdasarkan latar sosial, cara hidup serta tahap pengunjung yang terdiri dari pelbagai bangsa, umur dan status. Katakunci: laras bahasa, muzium, pendidikan warisan, pengunjung muzium, program pendidikan, warisan This paper discusses findings from a study of the educational heritage organized by the National Museum of Malaysia and the specific register used in its particular programme to cope with various levels of age and social category of the Malaysian society. Education programmes were carried out directly and indirectly. Directly means they are implemented through educational heritage programmes which were planned and arranged particularly for visitors, and through regular as well as ad hoc exhibitions. All of these activities would indirectly convey knowledge on heritage to the visitors. Data were taken from literature studies, direct observation and random interviews. This study found that the use of register should be based on visitors’ social settings, lifestyles and characteristics including ethnic background, age and socio-economic status.
