A mathematical model of optimization of the man-machine system by the description of the functional algorithm in a form of an event graph was worked out. The task of ergonomic design is reduced to the problem of linear programming. As an objective function, the probability of error-free execution of the operation algorithm is used, and as constraints, the restriction on the mathematical expectation of the execution time and resource consumption.
