Problem of investigating the hydrogen flame radiation using the radiation of the intermediate products of reaction

1995
Results are presented of the measured excited OH radical total radiation from turbulent flames of homogeneous hydrogen-air mixtures within the excess air coefficient range between 0.15 and 3.0 and of the diffusional submerged hydrogen flames at various outflow velocities. Information is obtained about the influence of the radiation from heated quartz glasses and of the natural flame absorption on the measurement accuracy. A possibility is demonstrated of using the data on the radiation of laminar flames for a quantitative analysis of turbulent flames while simultaneously determining the shapes and size of the radiating volume and in complicated cases also the pressure distribution.
