Synthesis, Characterization and Electro catalytic activity of CuO-TiO 2

Abstract CuO-TiO 2 composite was synthesized by thermal decomposition method. The prepared sample was analysed by X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscope confirms the CuO-TiO 2 composite is in irregular agglomerated particles. The prepared sample was characterised by FT-IR. CuO-TiO 2 nanoparticles were used to modify the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and the modified electrode was used to simultaneous determination of catechol and hydroquinone by voltammetric techniques. The modified electrodes exhibit better electro catalytic activity than the bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE).
