The invention discloses a method for preparing 1,4-butynediol catalyst. The method comprises the following steps: 1) preparing a copper silicon mixing solution, a copper bismuth mixing solution, a precipitating agent solution I and a precipitating agent solution II; 2) adding bottom water in a reaction vessel, dropping the copper silicon mixing solution and the precipitating agent solution I for coprecipitation; 3) filtering the material, washing the material, drying the material, and sieving the material; collecting a sieving product and adding the sieving product in the reaction vessel; 4) adding the bottom water in the reaction vessel, dropping the copper bismuth mixing solution and the precipitating agent solution II; 5) filtering the material, adding the deionized water containing ammonium ions for washing, adding a proper amount of distilled water; and 6) drying slurry by employing spray, drying the material, and roasting the material to obtain the 1,4-butynediol catalyst. The catalyst has the advantages that activity is good, the catalyst particles are uniform, and loss is difficult during the usage process.
