Designing steam cycles to avoid corrosion

2006
Countering corrosion in boilers, steam turbines, condensers, heat-recovery steam generators, and other steam- or water-handling equipment is best done during the design phase. Given the multiple forms of attack that corrosion can mount, vigilance, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential during a plant's design phase and its operation-as well as during its commissioning, construction, and layup.
